摘要: The European research project TIDE (Tidal Inlets Dynamics and Environment) is developing validating coupled models describing the morphological, biological ecological evolution of tidal environments. interactions between physical processes occurring in these regions requires that system be studied as a whole rather than separate parts. Extensive use remote sensing including LiDAR being made to provide validation data for modelling. This paper describes different uses within their relevance science objectives. have been acquired from three environments, Venice Lagoon Italy, Morecambe Bay England, Eden estuary Scotland. accuracy at each site has evaluated using ground reference with differential GPS. A semi-automatic technique developed extract channel networks either used alone or fused aerial photography. While resulting may require some correction, procedure does allow network extraction over large areas objective criteria reduces fieldwork requirements. extracted subsequently geomorphological analyses, example describe drainage patterns induced by examine rate change networks. Estimation heights low sparse vegetation on marshes investigated analysis statistical distribution measured heights. Species having mean separated first-order moments height distribution.
