摘要: Abstract An increase in the number of accidents process industries and concomitant damage potential is a cause concern many countries. In order to control alarming risk posed by these industries, United States government has asked each manufacturing facility carry out worst-case disaster study develop alternatives this high risk. Other developed developing countries such as Canada India have taken similar measures. Recently Khan Abbasi (J. Loss Prevent. Process Ind. (2001a) press) proposed maximum credible accident analysis with scenario approach, which scores over approach for being realistic reliable. another effort, Hazard. Mater. (2001b) an efficient effective algorithm probabilistic fault tree analysis. These two approaches been combined yield new methodology more realistic, reliable, safety evaluation design The named SCAP: Safety, Credible Accident, Probabilistic comprised four steps last step feedback loop. This paper recapitulates demonstrates its application ethylene oxide (EO) plants. SCAP EO plants identifies five units risky needing Further, recommends measures through that their implementation lower acceptable level.
