摘要: Abstract Escherichia coli B , grown in iron-rich media, were more resistant toward the aerobic bactericidal action of formed elements blood than comparable iron-deficient cells. The iron replete cells contained 2.5 times ferrisuperoxide dismutase, 12 peroxidase, and 1.5 catalase did susceptible to exogenous O 2 − H iron-replete Cyanide permitted a differentiation between dismutase or peroxidase since it inhibited latter peroxide-consuming enzymes but had no effect on superoxide-utilizing enzyme. In presence m cyanide, E. much phagocytic kill even though this level cyanide completely peroxidase. It can be concluded that large part enhanced resistance kill, exhibited by was due their increased content periplasmic dismutase. follows is probably an important agent killing phagocytized .
