摘要: Sarcomas of the head, neck, and skull base represent a heterogeneous group tumors with distinct prognostic features. There have been significant improvements in characterizing these sarcomas using traditional morphologic assessments more recent immunohistochemical analysis. Surgery is mainstay treatment followed by radiation therapy. Treatment modalities changed select pediatric sarcomas, for which new chemotherapeutic combinations improved survival statistics. The high rate distant failure emphasizes need novel systemic directed molecular therapies. Tumor grade, size, margin status are key factors survival.
