Cutaneous angiosarcoma of the head and neck: Report of 23 cases from a single institution

摘要: Background To report a single-institution experience in the treatment of cutaneous head and neck angiosarcoma. Study Design Case series. Patients Methods Twenty-three patients were evaluated: 12 females 11 males. The primary site lesion was 9 patients, scalp 9, face 5. No patient had been submitted to previous but 10 incisional biopsy. lesions' size ranged from 2.5 cm (median 4 cm). Results All one surgical resection as treatment. Twenty-two received adjuvant treatment: 8 cases local recurrence distant metastasis. Two presented synchronous relapses. 5-year survival rate 21.7 percent. In our series, only factor affecting histological grade (odds ratio = 6.7; 95% confidence interval, 1.6-28.9). Conclusion Our results for are comparable those literature with based on complete resection. significant prognostic tumor grade.
