摘要: To examine the effects of caffeine during exercise in fire protective ensemble (FPE), 10 healthy males completed 3 x min bouts treadmill on two separate days. Sixty minutes prior to either 6 mg/kg (CAFF) or dextrose placebo (PLA) capsules were ingested (randomly assigned, double blind). End-exercise gastrointestinal temperature (T(gi)) was higher CAFF compared PLA (38.80 +/- 0.08 degrees C vs. 38.43 0.11 C, p < = 0.01). Ventilation (V(E)) and tidal volume (V(t)) also significantly CAFF, which resulted consumption air from self-contained breathing apparatus. While perceived exertion condition decreased (p 0.05) placebo, T(gi) values increased calculated physiological strain index Caffeine appears alter psycho-physical responses FPE may influence factors related work tolerance firefighting. These findings are relevant occupations such as firefighting where workers encapsulated exposure heavy physical and/or environmental heat. The results indicate that be more susceptible heat-related fatigue, illness injury with ingestion significant amounts caffeine. authors' knowledge this is first study involving humans detect an increase body ingestion.
