摘要: Abstract The acquisition of competence is a key mechanism for refining global signals to distinct spatial and temporal responses. molecular basis competence, however, remains poorly understood. Here, we show that the βFTZ-F1 orphan nuclear receptor functions as factor stage-specific responses steroid hormone ecdysone during Drosophila metamorphosis. mutants pupariate normally in response late larval pulse but display defects subsequent prepupae. ecdysone-triggered genetic hierarchy directs these developmental severely attenuated mutants, although expression unaffected. This study defines an essential signal implicates interplay among receptors achieving hormonal competence.
