摘要: Abstract The white gene of Drosophila is required for the pigmentation eyes, ocelli, Malpighian tubules and testis sheath. We have examined regulation expression in germ line transformants that carry mRNA-coding sequences flanked by varying amounts normally located adjacent to them. A segment with as little 1.9 kb 5'- 2.1 3'-flanking DNA was expressed give essentially wild-type all these tissues interacted trans zeste-1 allele. In contrast, having segments 1.1 5'-flanking had reduced levels pigment their no detectable testes did not interact zeste-1. The ocelli 0.4 were pigmented eye exhibited dosage compensation. conclude there are sequence elements present region from upstream 5' end transcript which interaction same or other this appear augment eye.
