摘要: There is increasing concern for sleeplessness-related risks in modern society. Some recent epidemiological data seem to support the view that many segments of adult population have chronically inadequate sleep. On other hand, some experts claimed our core, basic amount sleep around 6 h per night, and rest can be easily curtailed, being unnecessary fulfill any need. However, experimental on effects both acute cumulative partial deprivation (PSD) consistently point out restriction has substantial negative sleepiness, motor cognitive performance mood, as well metabolic, hormonal immunological variables. As chronic PSD may serious long-term adverse health effects, it should avoided general population. In short-term, curtailment accumulate linearly, while further investigated, few available studies are flawed by methodological weaknesses. there evidence extending 2-3 beyond norm produces only marginal benefits an average individual. Finally, underlined that, large individual differences do exist need sleep, search vain.
