摘要: Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is one of the most important biologically active prostanoids found throughout gastrointestinal tract. Despite fact that PGE2 regulates many physiological functions gut including mucosal protection, secretion and motility, it implicated in pathophysiology inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) colorectal neoplasia. The varied biological exerted by are through pharmacologically distinct, G-protein coupled plasma membrane receptors termed EP receptors. Disruptions various prostanoid receptor genes have helped unravelling these To date, all four subtypes been individually knocked out mice phenotypes reported for each subtype. Similarly, vitro vivo studies using agonists antagonists uncoupling diverse signalling involving distinct gut. In this review, we will summarize conceptualize salient features subtypes, their regional how expressions altered during disease states.
