Manus-only titanosaurid trackway from Fumanya (Maastrichtian, Pyrenees): further evidence for an underprint origin

摘要: The origin of manus-only and manus dominated sauropod trackways has been a matter intense debate since two hyphothesis exist: (a) manus-dominated result from ‘swimming’ sauropod, (b) they selective underprint phenomenon that only leaves the recorded. Several new are reported in Fumanya tracksite area (Maastrichtian), SE Pyrenees, where both tracks undertracks found on same stratigraphic bedding surface. In one trackways, footprint morphology together with trackway pattern displays clear succession impressions attributed to dinosaur walking gait. ichnological comparison between other complete (manus-pes) display an identical distribution pattern. This fact clearly points towards as for it is rather unlikely would completely match different locomotion behaviours such swimming. Therefore, we suggest interpretation based differential loading hindfoot forefoot upper track-level, studied trackway. □ tracksite, titanosaurs, pattern, underprint, Upper Cretaceous.
