摘要: Northeastern India is a major nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) high risk-area although the rest of country has very low incidence. A case-control study 105 NPC cases and 115 controls was conducted to identify potential risk factors for development in this region. Information collected by interviewer about socio-demographic characteristics, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, dietary history, occupational family history cancer. Epstein-Barr viral load assayed from blood DNA real time PCR. Associations between GSTs genotypes, cytochrome P450 including CYP1A1, CYP2E1 CYP2A6 polymorphisms susceptibility relationship diseases were studied using PCR-RFLP assay. Results indicate that virus significantly higher patients compared (p<0.0001). Furthermore, concentration EBV-DNA advanced stage disease (Stage III IV) than early I II) (p<0.05). Presence variants reduced enzyme activity less frequent controls. Smoked meat exposure smoke, living poorly ventilated house consumption associated with among population India. Thus, overall our revealed EBV genetic polymorphism along practices which include smoked houses are north eastern region Understanding their role etiology helpful forpreventive measures screening.
