摘要: Cory’s Shearwater, Calonectris diomedea, is a pelagic seabird that winters in the waters off state of Rio Grande do Sul southern Brazil. Elsewhere, its diet comprised mostly fish and cephalopods, but dietary details out breeding season are unknown. The present study analysed Shearwater along coast based on stomach contents 185 birds found dead during beach surveys between July 1997 1998. Food items were classified taxonomically non-food categorized. taxa identified included cephalopods Argonauta nodosa Histioteuthis sp. Paralonchurus brasiliensis, Porichthys porosissimus, Prionotus punctatus. Cephalopods 97% stomachs 33% stomachs. Synthetic materials 81% Our data corroborate general ideas Procellariiform migration. high amount synthetic indicates pollution marine environments Brazil we call attention to this situation.
