Effect of Host‐race Combination on Resistance of Sunflower, Helianthus annuus L., to Downy Mildew Plasmopara balstedii

摘要: Study of resistance sunflower, Helianthus annuus L., to downy mildew, Plasmopara halstedii, shows that both susceptible and resistant seedlings are always infected by the fungus, then hypersensitive-like reactions occur in parenchyma necroses form around parasite. Comparison 21 incompatible combinations (resistance) extent fungus growth differs according host-race combination. With type I resistance, is limited roots lower part hypocotyl. II grows throughout whole length hypocotyl may sporulate on cotyledons
