摘要: BACKGROUND The role of abdominal fat and body (BF) in the evaluation nutritional status asthma has been considered recently. present study aimed to evaluate association between different anthropometric markers control, pulmonary function quality life. A secondary objective was determine agreement with respect assessing obesity adults asthma. METHODS This cross-sectional enrolled adult patients attending an outpatient clinic southern Brazil. Patients were evaluated regarding sociodemographic data, lung function, health-related life (Asthma Quality Life Questionnaire; AQLQ). Nutritional classified by mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC) BF. RESULTS mean (SD) age 198 56.2 (14.8) years. prevalence uncontrolled among subjects who overweight as diagnosed their BMI 64.6% higher than those normal weight. An increase a measure (1 kg m-2 ) decreases approximately 44-59% symptoms, activity limitations emotional domains AQLQ, whereas WC cm) 24-30% same domains. Agreement BF 0.566 that 0.597 Kendall's Tau-b test. CONCLUSIONS is greater weight subjects. negatively associated AQLQ. appears be sufficient diagnose this population.
