摘要: AIM: To compare corneal endothelial structure and central thickness (CCT) between type II diabetics non-diabetic control patients. look for correlations diabetic status findings. METHODS: Hospital-based, observational study. 200 eyes (from 100 patients controls) were included. Specular microscopy pachymetry used to measure cell density, size, coefficient of variation in area, hexagonality as well thickness. Independent t-tests variables controls. Pearson correlation tests evaluate findings such duration diabetes, haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level severity retinopathy. RESULTS: Endothelial density the group (2541.6 +/- 516.4 cells/mm(2)) was significantly lower than that (2660.1 515.5 cells/mm(2), P 0.05). Duration HbA1c retinopathy not correlated with CONCLUSION: Type diabetes causes a significant alteration state cornea including reduction increased pleomorphism polymegathism. Central is unaffected.
