摘要: INTRODUCTION Not all smokers receive tobacco cessation advice from health care providers (HCPs) and, although factors associated with receiving HCP to quit smoking and the effectiveness of such have been examined, no recent study has explored differences between types HCPs (eg, physicians vs dentists). Our objective was determine prevalence HCP-delivered characteristics patients who any separately, a physician or dentist. METHODS This used data Sample Adult Core questionnaire, Family Cancer Control Module 2010 National Health Interview Survey. The sample for analysis limited current saw an in previous 12 months. received were compared those did not further analyzed by which type delivered advice. RESULTS Half reported HCP, but only 1 10 visited dentist quit. Receipt sex, age, race, marital status, region, insurance, attempts months, extent use. CONCLUSION Only half even fewer dentists. Changes professional organizations' policies, profession education curriculum, continuing requirements are needed improve compliance Clinical Practice Guideline.
