摘要: Model organisms have advanced biology tremendously because they are amenable to genetic analysis and manipulation. However, the power of model depends on transferability results. For instance, plant Arabidopsis thaliana is not intensively studied by its own virtue, but results can be projected other plants interest, including economically important crop plants. In many cases, it this transfer that limits a model. Two strategies been employed overcome limitation: either, (a) reconstitute refined tools detection or methods manipulation (b) introduce new closer application interest. The current issue assembles examples for both approaches:
