摘要: Abstract The crystal structures of 272 metal carboxylates were surveyed with regard to the prevalence bilayer formation. Bilayers affect chemical and physical properties solids. In particular, solid-state reactivity may be greatly enhanced by presence 2-dimensional coordination polymers in a motif. Bilayer formation is common (≈60% 2-D polymers) for aliphatic 3-carbon acidate salts complexes, dominant (92%) complexes ≥4-carbon acids. For aromatic unsubstituted acids, percentage remarkably low (32% all class—most are 1-D polymers), while addition spacer group between carboxyl portion leads >90% bilayer/2-D polymer above points other subtle features illustrated this contribution, strategies planning production possible materials proposed.
