摘要: Outbreaks of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection are associated with unsafe injection practices, intravenous drug abuse and other exposure to blood body fluids. We report here three outbreaks HCV from Jammu Kashmir (JK a total 115 samples were sent the NCDC for RT-PCR, 77 positive. Subtype 3a was found in all Anantnag (February 2013); subtype 3b, Srinagar (May 2015). Subtypes 3g identified two Kulgam outbreak (July 2014). A detailed epidemiological investigation should be conducted whenever cluster cases is revealed, as this potentially allows identification larger outbreaks. Epidemiological investigations further supported by inclusion molecular tests. Efforts limit therapeutic injections only those having strong medical/surgical indications restrict use non-sterile needles essential prevent transmission HCV.
