摘要: Feral rye and jointed goatgrass are winter annual grasses that infest wheat in the western United States. Currently, no herbicides available selectively control these weeds wheat. Because of this constraint, producers need cultural practices reduce seed densities two soil seedbank. This research shows applying nitrogen 5 mo before planting increasing seeding rate with a tall cultivar reduces production per plant either species by > 40%. However, cultivars usually yield less grain than semidwarf cultivars. Producers can avoid loss combining narrow rows time N application increased combination weed similarly to systems Nomenclature: Jointed goatgrass, Aegilops cylindrica Host #1 AEGCY; feral rye, Secale spp.; wheat, Triticum aestivum L. 'TAM 107' 'Lamar.' Additional index words: Cultural practices, seedbank management, approach, AEGCY.
