摘要: Publisher Summary Randomized clinical trials paint a less favorable picture of the impact hormone therapy (HT) on overall health than suggested by observational studies. Although many associations between HT and diseases end points are consistent in randomized (RCTs) studies, results for coronary heart disease (CHD) differ substantially. These differences might be explained at least part methodological biological study populations. studies susceptible to selection confounding biases, it is likely that characteristics populations RCTs even greater importance. Time since menopause initiation severity menopausal symptoms may important modulators effect CHD. Women decade or more into their unlikely derive cardiovascular benefit from an increased risk thromboembolic event precipitated treatment. remains most effective treatment counter menopause, current guidelines discourage long-term use chronic prevention.
