摘要: Retained austenite is a remnant product that may induce significant changes in mechanical properties of the steel. Consequently, accurate and economical measurement retained very important. In this regard, specimens AISI-440C AISI-A2 steels were austenized at different temperatures ranging from 950°C to 1250°C then air cooled. This led major microstructural these specimens. These characterized by using x-ray diffraction techniques, optical electron microscopy, Rockwell hardness testing, ultrasonic flaw detectors. study revealed there good correlation exists between phase longitudinal velocity. The magnitude velocity can be used obtain reliable, quick, quantitative determination volume percentage present on production floor with relative ease, less destructive, as compared other methods.
