摘要: Four related hypotheses were tested: 1) substitution of sucrose for starch at moderate levels will significantly elevate blood pressure; 2) most urinary is endogenous; 3) a change in endogenous production alter sodium excretion and pressure, 4) dietary inhibits production. The systolic pressures 25 male rats, 100 days age, female 1 year measured weekly 8 months. In four experiments, they consumed diets which 38% energy came from fat, 15% protein, 7% lactose the remaining 40% five different sucrose/starch ratios. experiment 4, 10% maltose/30% diet was fed to one-half rats 3. All similar amounts each so that there no significant body weight differences between groups end At periodic intervals all injected with micro c [U-14C]glucose placed metabolism cages where 24 hour urine sample obtained. Urine analyzed sodium, sucrose-14C content. Endogenous estimated percent recovered as hours. confirmed.
