摘要: Astrocytes represent the reticular part of central nervous system; gap junctions formed by connexins Cx43, Cx30- and Cx26 provide for homocellular astrocyte-astrocyte coupling, whereas Cx30, Cx32, Cx47 connect astrocytes oligodendrocytes. Astroglial networks are anatomically functionally segregated being homologous to neuronal ensembles. Connexons, hemichannels (unpaired connexons) affected in various neuropathologies from neuropsychiatric neurodegenerative diseases. Manipulation astrocytic modulates size outreach astroglial syncytia thus affecting homeostatic support. Modulation connexin significantly modifies pharmacological profile many CNS drugs, which represents an innovative therapeutic approach disorders; this is now actively tested pre-clinical clinical studies. Wide combination modulators with drugs open new promising perspectives fundamental studies strategies.
