摘要: Magnetite, the ferrospinel Fe3+[Fe2+Fe3+]04, is ferrimagnetic with atomic moments characteristic of localized, high- spin configurations orbital-momentum quenched. An unactivated electrical conductivity low electron mobility u leaves open question whether mobile d electrons on octahedral sites are itinerant (u = ei/m*) or polarons eDo/kT) having no activation energy for a jump between molecular orbitals Fe-Fe pairs. Below sharp Verwey transition at about 120K, charges ordered; but structural evidence still inadequate to clarify this complex ordering small stabilization charge-density wave.
