摘要: Many areas of the country do not have public transportation, making ability to drive an essential part maintaining one’s independence. A July 2003 report issued by Brookings Institution entitled “The Mobility Needs Older Americans” found that increasing numbers elderly population are concentrated in suburban with no transportation options other than driving. According report, 56% seniors live and rural areas, number miles driven increased from 12.7 a day 1995 15.3 2001, also tend be more receptive alternatives such as voucher ride-sharing programs traditional means transportation.1 The 2000 US Census counted approximately 35 million people were aged 65 years over 4 them being 85 years.2 It is estimated 2050 older will quadruple 19.3 million.3
