摘要: Abstract Freezing of spinach or barley chloroplasts during continuous illumination results in the trapping a paramagnetic state mixture such states characterized by multiline EPR spectrum. Added Photosystem II electron acceptor enhances signal intensity considerably. Treatments which abolish ability to evolve oxygen, extraction bound manganese, prevent formation species. Restoration transport inhibited with an artificial donor (1,5-diphenylcarbazide) does not restore The presence 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1, 1-dimethylurea (DCMU) modified may represent second state. forms appear originate on side and are dependent functional oxygenevolving site bound, intact manganese. It is suggested that magnetically interacting manganese ions oxygen-evolving be responsible for signals. This suggestion supported calculations.
