摘要: Since June 1995, the library automation company Fretwell‐Downing (FD) has been collaborating with a group of Further Education (FE) colleges on project to explore use online distance learning techniques and how these might best be applied by this sector. Working under name LE Club (Learning Environment Club), initiative sits at intersection administration, authoring, mediation, delivery, tracking processes as such raises host strategic, technological, political implementation issues. Through integrating elements from previous (and ongoing) EU funded projects DALI (Document Libraries Integration), RENAISSANCE (Integration High Performance Services for Interactive Vocational Training European Regeneration) ICW (Integrated Co‐operative Workspace), together components FD's Library Automation package, OLIB, FD is in process defining an application framework Learning Environment. This paper reviews issues delivering while outlining specific architecture methodologies employed project. The implications initiatives libraries systems changing ‘learning environments’ which they exist are also briefly considered.
