摘要: Varied empirical studies show that the average output (measured in various ways) of a scientific or technical research group is directly proportional to its size (also measured ways), when and are independently. Hence groups different sizes have same per unit size. There no reliable evidence for existence range maximizes Present theoretical explanations proportionality between largely inadequate untested. Similarly, among reported results on age output, only consistency so far age, as years since founding first functioning group, uncorrelated with capita. Again, there an ages optimal.
