The temporal course of COVID-19 anosmia and relation to other clinical symptoms.

摘要: This study aimed to define the clinical course of anosmia in relation other symptoms. 135 patients with COVID-19 were reached by phone and subsequently included study. Olfactory functions evaluated using a questionnaire for assessment self-reported olfactory function. Patients divided into four subgroups according presence symptoms temporal relationship symptoms: group1 had only complaints (isolated, sudden-onset loss smell); group2 smell, followed related complaints; group3 initially complaints, then gradually developed group4 no complaints. In total, 59.3% interviewed during disease course. The dysfunction severity infection was significantly higher compared groups 2 3. groups1–3, odor scores after recovery from lower status prior onset. residual similar between groups1 2, but more evident than group3. Mean duration smell 7.8 ± 3.1 (2–15) days. Duration longer Odor completely returned back pre-disease values 41 (51.2%) dysfunction.
