摘要: SUMMARY. Proventriculitis was studied by experimentally reproducing the disease in broiler chickens. One-day-old infectious bursal virus (IBDV) and bronchitis (IBV) antibody positive commercial broilers 1-day-old negative specific-pathogen-free (SPF) were orally gavaged with proventricular homogenates produced from proventriculi of proventriculitis. At 7 14 days, both SPF had enlargement proventriculus necrosis glandular epithelium lymphocytic infiltrates glands. exposed to developed disease, IBDV detected reverse transcriptase‐polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). They also RT-PCR IBV nephritis. Commercial mild nephritis but not for RT-PCR. Both homogenate-inoculated chickens reovirus Newcastle variably adenovirus PCR. Bacteria identified histologic sections, nor they isolated affected proventriculi. Indirect fluorescent assay using convalescent sera intracytoplasmic staining epithelial cells. Examination thin sections electron microscopy virus-like particles approximately 120 nm diameter within cytoplasm these cells at days after inoculation. Passage homogenate filtrates chicken embryos isolation caused stunting, allantoic fluid eggs
