摘要: In the assembly of nonsegmented negative-stranded RNA viruses, such as Sendai virus, envelopment process allows extensively deleted genomes to survive by transmission from cell in virus particles. To assess impact sizes defective-interfering (DI) on their survival, we performed competition tests among various species. Among copy-back DI RNAs, a 450-base species was gradually eliminated virions 1200-base species, and latter independently 2800-base each case, smaller synthesized encapsidated at least efficiently larger revealing that level step assembly. contrast results obtained with repeated high multiplicity passage family four internally RNAs all but smallest comprising about 1600 bases. Both sets findings can be reconciled hypothesis efficiency nucleocapsid decreases progressively when is than
