Long-term airway evolution after orthognathic surgery: Systematic Review.

摘要: Abstract Orthognathic surgery is a procedure that consists of correcting the abnormalities maxilla, mandible or both. Maxillary movements have direct effect on upper airways. For this reason, in preoperative period, bone should be carefully analyzed and planned to avoid causing any damages The goal study was discuss long-term evolution airways after orthognathic surgery. In order do that, search performed through databases PubMed, Virtual Health Library (LILACS BBO) Scopus, using acronym PICO strategy guiding question conduct search. Through keywords boolean operators "and" "or" we found 930 articles. After reading titles, abstracts application inclusion exclusion criteria, had 21 articles were studied their integrity. At end selection, only 8 studies included review. postoperative evaluations from selected showed suffered variations, independently patient's facial pattern. addition, tend return initial volumes, but none obtained complete airways, even 6 years Therefore, more with controlled methodologies conducted better understanding changes.
