摘要: Hainan Island is the second largest island and one of most famous tourist destinations in China, but sediment contamination by trace metals coastal areas a major issue. However, full-scale risk assessments metal-polluted sediments are lacking. In this study, surface from 474 geographical locations covering almost entire were collected to identify risk-related variables. Controlling factors possible sources identified, toxicity effects carefully evaluated. Our results suggest that trace-metal pollution sediments, which was mainly caused Pb, Zn Cu emissions, has primarily resulted industrial sewage shipping activities threatened offshore ecosystem warrants extensive consideration. This first study systematically investigated throughout entirety provides solid evidence for sustainable marine management region.
