摘要: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are popular research subjects due to their high stability, rigid planar structure, and characteristic optical spectra. The recent discovery of graphene, which can be regarded as giant PAH, has further stimulated the interest in this area. For reason, relationship between geometric electronic structure spectra PAHs reviewed, pointing out versatile properties class molecules. Extremely stable fully-benzenoid with gaps encountered on one side very reactive acenes low other side. A huge range molecular sizes is covered from simplest case benzene its six carbon atoms up disks containing much 96 atoms. Furthermore, impact non-planarity discussed model cases for highly important fullerenes nanotubes. detailed analysis regard application fluorescent dyes or organic semiconductors. presented results shall encourage developments new PAH structures exploit novel materials properties.
