摘要: Osteogenesis imperfecta is a heterogeneous group of inherited disorders chiefly affecting type I collagen, resulting in bone fragility responsible for host recurrent fractures. Limb and spine deformities, growth failure restricted mobility are the end-result severe cases. Cyclical intermittent intravenous infusions pamidronate, potent inhibitor resorption, have yielded substantial improvement chronic pain, mineral density, fracture rate without significant side effects. The role hormone marrow transplantation treatment osteogenesis still unresolved. Newer, theoretically more bisphosphonates currently being tested this potentially crippling condition.
