摘要: Abstract The solvatochromic behavior of novel synthesized azo-containing viologen-based rotaxanes, combining push–pull linear and α or β-cyclodextrin macrocyclic components is examined. These rotaxanes are stoppered by pentacyanoferrate(II) units. latter stabilize these systems furthermore act as strong electron donors. units linked to withdrawing viologen thus giving rise an exceptionally intense behavior. Suitable solvent polarity scales Linear Solvation Energy Relationships (LSERs) were employed in order rationalize the effects observed, both specific non-specific ones. results for title compounds well their Cyclodextrin-Free-Dumbbell (CFD) like analogue, compared recent published data regarding similar smaller complexes other highly compounds. Structural on intensity contribution different solvent-solute interactions rationalized quantified.
