摘要: A 39-year-old man with a history of repeated attacks acute bronchitis and pneumonia since childhood was admitted complaining cough, sputum, high fever. diagnosis Kartagener's syndrome made because the presence mirror-image dextrocardia complete situs inversus, bronchiectasis in right B6 B10, chronic sinusitis. Examination ciliary ultrastructure bronchial epithelium showed defective inner dynein arms impaired nasal clearance suggested by saccharin particle method. Contrast venography great veins revealed McCotter type II bilateral superior vena cava an absent inferior (hemi-) azygos continuation. search to find similar case literature failed. Abnormal movement from embryonic period implicated as causative factor triad morphological abnormalities veins.
