摘要: It is found that a variety of (deliberately) adsorbed gases influence in some manner the epitaxial growth metals on metals. The investigated included molecularly CO and H2O dissociatively H, O, N, C, S. effects have been metal‐on‐metal systems including Cu/Cu(100), Ni/Ni(100), Cu/Ni(100), Ni/Cu(100), Fe/Cu(100), Cu/Fe(100), Fe/Ag(100), Fe/Fe(100). Although not all possible gas–metal combinations among these studied, enough to make following generalizations. Around room temperature above, exhibit strong tendency ‘‘float out’’ growing surface, hardly reducing extent ordering. All but most strongly bound, e.g., C or float out even during epitaxy at temperatures as low 100 K. tend suppress agglomeration interdiffusion (which otherwise occurs) wh...
