摘要: Estimates of covariance components and genetic parameters were obtained for birth, weaning, 200-d, 400-d weight a herd Polled Herefords multibreed synthetics, the so-called Wokalups. Data originated from an experiment in Western Australia selecting preweaning growth rate. Analyses carried out by REML fitting animal model including permanent environmental maternal effects. Wokalups showed consistently more phenotypic variation, partly due to scale effect, higher direct lower heritabilities than Herefords. Maternal effects twice as important both correlations among weaning subsequent weights essentially unity, identifying found postweaning "carry over" those on weight.
