摘要: This thesis analyzes gender-differentiated vulnerability to the flooding in 2011 within a rural community Laos PDR - village of Ban Lao situated Mekong River basin. The study employs Community Capitals Framework (CCF) explore what resources women and men case had lost thereafter be able analyze capitals where most essential for their coping adaptation capacity. A gender perspective is further applied reveal differences between terms access seven framework how it flooding. The illustrates that responded used different strategies before, during after village. Most common were short term such as selling animals rescue belongings. Long sustainable labeled income diversification, strategy prerogative male household heads. Gendered differentiations do not only restrain options livelihood diversification but also determine choice which approach reduce impacts from flooding. Thereby can reductions future on local level achieved by fuller understanding interaction they influence capacity strategy.
