摘要: This paper describes the potential role of agroforestry systems in adaptation to expected changes climate by smallholder farmers tropical regions general and sub-Saharan Africa particular. There is enough scientific evidence conclude that change happening link with observed earth's physical systems. Agriculture one high priority sectors where impacts exceed tolerance limits implications for livelihoods millions dependent on this sector. Agroforestry interventions, because their ability provide economic environmental benefits, are considered be best “no regrets” measures making communities adapt become resilient change. The important elements can play a significant include microclimate, protection through provision permanent cover, opportunities diversification agricultural systems, improving efficiency use soil, water climatic resources, contribution soil fertility improvement, reducing carbon emissions increasing sequestration, promoting gender equity. These discussed limitations highlighted. While clearly offer ecological advantages, development robust compliant stakeholder needs requirements constrained our limited understanding tradeoffs between subsistence requirements, acceptable risks, costs involved.
