摘要: A previous study demonstrated that ginseng crude saponins prevent obesity induced by a high-fat diet in rats. Ginseng are known to contain variety of bioactive saponins. The present investigated and compared the antiobesity activity protopanaxadiol (PD) protopanaxatriol (PT) type saponins, major active compounds isolated from Male 4-week-old Sprague-Dawley rats were fed with normal (N) or (HF). After 5 weeks, HF group was subdivided into control diet, diet-PD diet-PT (50 mg/kg/day, 3 i.p.). Treatment PD PT reduced body weight, total food intake, fat contents, serum cholesterol leptin levels equal below N group. hypothalamic expression orexigenic neuropeptide Y significantly decreased treatment, whereas anorexigenic cholecystokinin increased, In addition, had more potent properties than indicating PD-type components contributing activities results suggest may result inhibiting energy gain, normalizing neuropeptides biochemicals related obesity.
