摘要: This paper describes a refined approach to the problems of identification and comparison synthetic fibers encountered in forensic science case work. The necessary apparatus consists polarizing microscope equipped with Mettler hot stage. Observations concerning variation fiber's birefringence temperature have been found be very useful, both for determining generic type an unknown fiber detecting subtle differences among same from different sources. Data, including semilogarithmic plots as function temperature, are given nine types fibers.
