摘要: Abstract The method of lines is applied to the two-dimensional nonlinear water wave generation resulting from abrupt acceleration rest constant speed a pressure distribution on surface initially calm water. can be viewed as modeling air cushion effect ship. Steady state at craft achieved for all cases computed, most which are highly and exhibit sharp downstream crests that approach limiting sharpness Stokes steady irrotational gravity waves. Computations show pronounced sharpening crests, broadening troughs, shortening wavelengths compared linear theory. Wave resistance, rates work, energy computed. Computer time saved by applying in local neighborhood free combination with standard Laplace solver below. Results presented.
