摘要: Abstract Objective: We hypothesized that posttransplantation lung growth in an immature recipient and postlobectomy compensatory are two distinct processes. Methods: Mature swine underwent left upper lobectomy, of the lower lobe was studied after 2 weeks 3 months. Left lobes from another set mature pigs were transplanted into animals, then animals did not undergo operation used as normal control lobes. The weighed on removal fixed intrabronchially. Sections stained with hematoxylin eosin to determine alveolar surface density percentage volume respiratory region. Immunostaining for 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine cell proliferation index, epidermal factor receptor expression detected by Western blot. Results: Postlobectomy (increase weight) reached statistical significance at weeks, a concomitant rise index. lobe, contrast, exhibited gradual response, statistically significant increase index Volume region noted only Epidermal upwardly regulated relative 2-week 3-month Conclusions: appears be different mechanism than is more rapid restorative process. peaks both processes correlate upward regulation expression.
