摘要: Sex-sorted, frozen-thawed stallion spermatozoa remain out of reach commercial horse breeders because the low efficiency sex-sorting process and unacceptable fertility rates after insemination. Two experiments were designed to test effects alternative staining freezing media improve viability sex-sorted spermatozoa. Experiment 1 compared two media, INRA 82(®) a modified lactose-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), for cryopreservation No significant differences between could be identified, suggesting that both cryodiluents would suitable incorporation into sex-preselection protocol 2 Kenney's Tyrode's (KMT) Sperm TALP (Sp-TALP) as incubation medium prior sex-sorting. A increase in percentage acrosome-reacted occurred clarified Sp-TALP with KMT. As no improvements sorting achieved using Sp-TALP, it was concluded protocols include KMT while either or lactose-EDTA employed cryodiluents.
