摘要: Specialized subsets of T lymphocytes can distinguish the carbohydrate portions microbial and self-glycolipids when they are presented by proteins in CD1 family antigen presenting molecules. Recent immunochemical structural analyses indicate that chemical composition carbohydrate, together with its precise orientation above binding groove, determines if a particular cell is activated. More recently, however, it has been shown lipid backbone glycolipid, buried inside protein, also have an impact on activation. While glycolipid recognition relatively new category specificity, powerful combination discovery biochemistry provided great insight into mechanism recognition.
