The pain experience and psychological adjustment to orthodontic treatment of preadolescents, adolescents, and adults

摘要: Age-related changes in psychological measurements of pain and well-being were studied patients undergoing full fixed appliance orthodontic treatment. A longitudinal series four questionnaires was used to obtain these factors after the separation phase treatment, banding (2 7 days separation), first adjustment visit (3 4 weeks placement appliances), second (3–4 months completed). The results suggest an interaction between phases treatment reported significant differences response profiles adolescent age group (14 17 years) compared preadolescent (11 13 adult groups (18 years older). These findings did not appear be due simply use analgesics, class malocclusion, or type used. profile comparisons indicated that generally lower levels higher during examined. Consistent with finding adolescents differed from preadolescents adults quality experience indicate difference therapy, which suggests are more vulnerable undesirable effects
